The R13 gives T.H.E. Section Bending enhanced capacity
In late 2000, we installed the country's most centrally located Roundo R13S section bending facility in a specially acquired and modified plant in Beighton, Sheffield.
This new R13S facility means that we now accept larger capacity section bending projects - up to 610 x 229 x 140 kg/m on the x-x- axis.
It also enables you to benefit from our more convenient, highly practical location at the heart of the country's industrial infrastructure.
We can now bend joists, universal columns, channels, flats on edge, tubes and solid bars with specifications suitable for your larger structural applications.

Major ferry company relies on T.H.E. Section Bending for RoRo extension
As part of the recent extension to Roll-on Roll-off ferry facilities at Hollyhead, we were asked to provide the large diameter pile casings used in both the permanent and temporary works.
The drilling process required a shoe and conductor system for which we supplied four casings rolled from 50D, 15mm plate, between 5m and 12m long with diameters between 2300mm and 3060mm.
The permanent works required three oversleeves for the dolphins made from 20mm and 25mm thick 50D plate with lengths between 10m and 11m and diameters from 2300mm to 3060mm.
The entire £175,000 project was completed in late 2000 and took us just over four months.

English support for Welsh Rugby
The complex support system for the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff was designed, procured and installed by Structural Systems of Bristol.
We had to work closely with both Structural Systems and Rowecord, to produce first test profiles, then the many structural elements for this large scale project.
These included 60x60x6 RSA rolled toes in, to an O/D of 1660 @ 81 degrees, 152x102x12.5 Tees, rolled stalk out, to an I/D of 2888, 75x50x6 RSA, rolled toes in to an O/D of 2900 @ 90 degrees - all supplied galvanised after rolling.
Access and site restrictions imposed tight delivery schedules which we were happy to meet. Before deliveries had commenced we were asked to part assemble which required us to accurately pre-drill the sections prior to rolling and bolt them back to back in pairs.
The successful contract resulted in a close partnership between T.H.E., Rowecord and Structural Systems that delivered a world-class stadium for the new millennium.
